Physical Sexual And Emotional Abuse Of Children Social Work Essay Essays Physical Sexual And Emotional Abuse Of Children Social Work Essay Essay Physical Sexual And Emotional Abuse Of Children Social Work Essay Essay The slaughter of the inexperienced person is increasing each twenty-four hours, and the public witnesses the act, yet does non come to the assistance of the kids. Childs are being physically, sexually, and emotionally abused by both aliens and familiar faces. Obvious marks of maltreatment are shown, but some are excessively afraid to inform the constabulary section or other organisations that will maintain kids safe. This leads to emotional or physical harm to the kid, even decease. All maltreatment is non obvious to others unless they are a portion of the family. For those who survive maltreatment, non-profit organisations are at that place to assist them get the better of this test in their life. Non-profit organisations can assist forestall physical, sexual, and emotional kid maltreatment, or help a kid who has been abused in order to salvage them from psychological unwellness and jobs with society. The types of kid maltreatment in the universe today are physical, emotional, and sexual. Physical kid maltreatment is the 2nd most often reported signifier of kid maltreatment. It accounts for 25 per centum of all instances of kid maltreatment ( MedicineNet ) . Physical kid maltreatment is physical hurt inflicted upon the kid with barbarous and/or malicious purpose. Physical maltreatment can be the consequence of punching, whipping, kicking, biting, combustion, agitating, or harming a kid physically. ( MedicineNet ) Emotional kid maltreatment is the 3rd most often reported signifier of kid maltreatment. It accounts for 17 per centum of all instances of kid maltreatment ( MedicineNet ) . Emotional kid maltreatment includes Acts of the Apostless of committee or skip by the parents and other health professionals that could do the kid to hold terrible behavioural, emotional, or mental upset ( MedicineNet ) . In instances of emotional maltreatment, the Acts of the Apostless of parents, without any injury evident in the kid s behaviour or status, are sufficient to justify the intercession of kid protective services ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . An illustration of emotional kid maltreatment is when parents or health professionals use utmost signifiers of penalty, such as imprisonment of a kid in a dark cupboard. Another signifier of kid maltreatment is sexual kid maltreatment. Sexual kid maltreatment is a signifier of maltreatment in which an grownup or older stripling uses a kid for sexual stimulation. In the web article Child Abuse and Neglect: Recognizing and Preventing Child Abuse, it states that the types of sexual kid maltreatment contains indecorous exposure of the genitalias to a kid, exposing erotica to a kid, inquiring or coercing a kid to prosecute in sexual activities, irrespective if the act is completed or non, physical contact with the kid s genitalias, except during a medical test, sexual contact against a kid, screening of the kid s genital organ without physical contact, except during a medical test, or utilizing a kid to bring forth child erotica ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . These lay waste toing Acts of the Apostless may go forth the kid psychologically sick, physically injured, or dead. In order to forestall these state of affairss, information on the features of all three signifiers of kid maltreatment is needed. Common features of parents that physically abuse their kids are: holding low defeat tolerance, impaired rearing accomplishments, a sense of incompetency in parenting, a history of maltreatment, and unrealistic outlooks of kids. They besides express choler unsuitably and are isolated socially ( Fennell A ; Anne p.1 ) . In Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing, Fennell and Anne give a quotation mark from Bredehoft, an person who describes the features of opprobrious parents. He states, A parent who comes from a dysfunctional household ; abuses drugs or intoxicant ; is intellectually low operation ; has emotional unwellness or important physical unwellness, history of illegal activities, matrimonial jobs, been investigated for kid maltreatment or disregard ; a kid with important behaviour jobs or wellness jobs ; inadequate support system for the household ; several immature kids in the place ; important fond regard jobs between the parent and the kid ; grounds of force i n the place ; and/or fiscal emphasis. This information is of import in order to try to forestall physical kid maltreatment. Without this cognition, the kid will endure. The longer the physical maltreatment continues, the more serious the effects will go. Child Abuse and Neglect: Recognizing and Preventing Child Abuse states, Short term effects of kid maltreatment include instantaneous hurting, agony and medical jobs in some instances, or even decease caused by physical hurt. Emotional effects besides are the effects of physical kid maltreatment. It includes choler, ill will, fright, anxiousness, humiliation, lowered self-esteem and inability to show feelings ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . Last, behavioural jobs are effects of physical kid maltreatment. Children become aggressive towards others or suicidal behaviours, overactive, enable to organize friendly relationships with equals and hapless societal accomplishments, and besides poorer cognitive and linguistic communication accomplishments than non-abused kids ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . The long term effects are what may take kids astray. Long term effects of kid maltreatment include physical and psychological jobs such as long term physical disablements. Examples are encephalon harm or oculus harm. Another long term affect would be disordered interpersonal relationships, for illustration, trouble swearing others within big relationships or violent relationships, a sensitivity to emotional perturbation, feelings of low ego regard, depression, an increased potency for kid maltreatment as a parent, and drug or intoxicant maltreatment ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . These effects will do the kid as an grownup to hold troubles in society. They are most likely to hold jobs with employment, have mental unwellnesss, commit offenses, and perchance go homeless. With intercession and placing the state of affairs the possibility that the high hazard of meeting these effects will diminish, and it will be easier for the kid to retrieve. Sixty-seven per centum of kids or striplings are 17 and under ( Prevent Child Abuse NY ) . In order to forestall sexual kid maltreatment, society must separate and respond upon the state of affairs. Sexual maltreatment does non ever occur upon contact. Exposing a kid to sexual state of affairss or stuff is sexual maltreatment. Many believe that misss are the lone gender at hazard of being sexually abused, but male childs are at hazard every bit good. Child sexual maltreatment is chilling, but it is even scarier to cognize that most sexual maltreatment is committed by grownups or older striplings that the kid knows and should be able to swear. For illustration, statistics show 93 per centum know their maltreater, 34 per centum abused are by household member, and 59 per centum are abused by person trusted by the household ( Prevent Child Abuse NY ) . Shame and guilt are the general effects of sexual maltreatment among kids. They frequently consider that in some manner they are responsible for the maltreatment. This can take to self-loathing and sexual jobs as they grow older. Children that are sexually abused are frequently either overly promiscuous or unable to hold intimate dealingss as an grownup ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . The shame of sexual maltreatment makes it really hard for kids to come frontward. They may worry that others will non believe them, will be angry with them, or that it will do struggle in their household. Because of these troubles, false accusals of sexual maltreatment are non common. In order to assist forestall sexual maltreatment, many organisations supply a list of warning marks. Prevent Child Abuse gives warnings of a sexually abused kid, Having problem walking or sitting, shows knowledge or involvement in sexual Acts of the Apostless inappropriate to his or her age, or even seductive behaviour, makes strong attempts to avoid a specific individual, without an obvious ground, does non desire to alter apparels in forepart of others or take part in physical activities, an STD or gestation, particularly under the age of 14, and runs off from place. ( Prevent Child Abuse NY ) Sticks and rocks may interrupt my castanetss but words will neer ache me. At a immature age many kids are taught this phrase in order to educate them non to be concerned with what others articulate. Contrary to this old expression, emotional maltreatment can badly damage a kid s mental wellness or societal development, go forthing wombs of emotional kid maltreatment are: Changeless denigration, shaming, and mortifying a kid naming names and doing negative comparings to others, stating a kid he or she is no good, worthless, bad, or a error, frequent shouting, endangering, or intimidation, disregarding or rejecting a kid as penalty, giving him or her the soundless intervention, limited physical contact with the kid, no clinchs, busss, or other marks of fondness, and exposing the kid to force or the maltreatment of others, whether it be the maltreatment of a parent, a sibling, or even a pet ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . Warning marks of emotional maltreatment consist of overly withdrawn, fearful, or anxiousness about making something incorrect, or demoing extremes in behaviour ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . For illustration, the kid will be highly obedient or highly demanding ; highly inactive or highly aggressive, does non look to be attached to the parent or health professional, and acts either unsuitably grownup, taking attention of other kids, or unsuitably childish are besides marks of emotional maltreatment ( Saisan, Smith, A ; Segal ) . Emotional Abuse earnestly interferes with a kid s cognitive, emotional, psychological or societal development. Douglas Besharov provinces in Acknowledging Child Abuse: A Guide for the Concerned, Emotional maltreatment is an assault on the kid s mind, merely as physical maltreatment is an assault on the kid s organic structure ( Besharov ) . Danya Glaser finds that emotional maltreatment can be more strongly prognostic of subsequent damages in the kids s development than the badness of physical maltreatment ( Glaser ) . Surveies have shown that an baby who is badly deprived of basic emotional nurturance, can neglect to boom and can finally decease. Babies with less terrible emotional want can turn into dying and insecure kids who are slow to develop and who have low self-prides. Although the seeable marks of emotional maltreatment in kids can be hard to observe, the concealed cicatrixs of this type of maltreatment grows in legion behavioural ways, such as insecurity, hapless self-esteem, destructive behaviour, angry Acts of the Apostless, backdown, hapless development of basic accomplishments, intoxicant or drug maltreatment, self-destruction, trouble organizing relationships and unstable occupation histories. Emotionally abused kids turn up believing that they are lacking in some manner. This will go a rhythm where the kid that was abused will mistreat their kid when they are older. Child maltreatment has increased over the old ages, and so hold the non-profit organisations to assist kids that have been abused. One such organisation is Kids In Total Health. This organisation was created, in 1995, by two female parents that realize the importance of assisting abused kids take back their childhood. This plan helps raise kids s ego regard and motivates them so that they have the tools to develop entire mental, emotional, and physical wellness. Their plans include gymnastic exercises, soldierly humanistic disciplines, guitar lessons, voice lessons, and summer cantonment. This organisation besides pushes persons to assist others that are abused by informing them so they are able to assist. Their mission statement is, Kids In Total Health ( KITH ) is giving abused kids back a piece of their stolen childhood, by allowing their wants. KITH offers plans that raise self esteem, helps to actuate the kid which gives them the tools necessary to develop entire mental, physic al and emotional wellness. As a charity we provide both fiscal and emotional support to the kid and households of abused kids, so that they may mend. KITH besides has a direct impact on the kid s ability to execute better in school, place, and in society. KITH is aiming our young person that needs a small something particular so that they someday can state I am non a victim, I am a subsister. This statement gives hope and encouragement to those who have been abused. It besides informs them that it is clip to take back their artlessness that was stolen from them long ago. During my research I came across narratives of kids being sexually, physically, and emotionally abused. In February 2009, a female parent in Dallas, Texas, was charged with disregard after her nine-year-old died from complications of diabetes after she failed to assist her manage her disease. In June 2008, a female parent in North Central Texas had her three kids taken off because of a instance of Munchausen syndrome by placeholder ( Iannelli ) . In January 2009, two parents in Dallas, Texas, were charged with mistreating their six-month-old baby so badly that he was in intensive attention and it was thought that he was non traveling to be able to retrieve. Besides a female parent s fellow was charged with the decease of her six-year-old boy ( Iannelli ) . In December 2008, a male parent was charged with the decease of his three-month-old baby who was found unresponsive, with bone breaks and liver lacerations ( Iannelli ) . February 2009, a male parent in Lodi, California, was charge d with physical maltreatment after a school employee noticed and reported Burnss on a six-year old pupil, which were thought to hold been inflicted by a apparels Fe. She had besides been beaten with a stick and her female parent was charged with child hazard. In the same month a female parent and her live-in fellow in Janesville, Wisconsin, were charged with maltreatment after repeatedly hitting her three-year-old girl to the point that she required exigency encephalon surgery. Besides is this month a fellow of a kid s female parent in Wilmington, Delaware, hit and killed a 16-month old miss because she would nt halt weeping ( Iannelli ) . In January 2009, in Fall River, Massachusetts, a female parent was charged with firing her four-year-old surrogate boy with a curling Fe, doing third-degree Burnss that required tegument transplant surgery ( Iannelli ) . These are merely a few narratives of kids being abused. In the universe today, some kid maltreatment goes unreported, and others are reported to late. Society is needed to halt kid maltreatment and salvage our artlessnesss. Maltreatment happens every twenty-four hours. The slaughter of the artlessness continues. There are non-profit organisations that are willing to assist kids in demand of love and attention, but without acknowledging the marks of maltreatment they are unable to assist. Even though I merely gave one organisation there are 1000000s out at that place such as: Rescue Me Service Center, Free Art for Abused Children, Bikers Against Child Abuse, and Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, and many more. Even though is highly hard to forestall maltreatment, it is non hard to assist a kid after that horrific act is over.

The working hours and increased work load per employee is also a challenge. The management needs to offer leadership by first listening and genuinely responding to these complaints. There is a communication gap that needs bridging where employees’ representatives should sit and negotiate with the management. Harmonizing remuneration needs to be considered and a formula devised on how to shorten the disparity. The workload will not be an issue if the management takes a few employees for further training so as to better manage the increased responsibilities. Organizations have to keep their employees motivated so as to ensure increased productivity states Camilius (2011). Camilius further states that losing employees is quite costly especially in replacing them. Every employee likes to feel valued and part of the larger organizational workforce. Even if some issues like increasing remuneration are sensitive and may not happen immediately, it is critical to communicate the intensions or reasons of failure thereof to the relevant employee representatives. These actions will go a long way in holding to the workforce as well as maintaining high motivation

Operating system - Assignment Example is a procedure that a computer’s Central Processing Unit (CPU) follows to change from one task/process to another while ensuring that the tasks do not conflict. For a computer to provide user-friendly multi-tasking, it needs an effective context switching. In a computer’s CPU, the term context is used to refer to the particular program counter and registers at a specific moment in time. A CPU’s current instruction is held by a register. The program counter Is also referred to as an instruction address register. It is a small amount of quick memory that is used to hold the address of the instruction to be executed immediately after the current one. It is possible to perform a context switch entirely in physical media, which is by use of hardware. This is especially so in older CPUs, for example the x86 series. In the modern world, the CPUs perform context switches by means of programming/software. The modern CPUs are very fast and they are able to perform numerous context switches within seconds. This gives the user an impression of the performance of multiple tasks by the computer. Deadlock prevention is the process of averting deadlocks by restraining how demands for resources can be made in the system and how they are handled, that is system design. Its main objective is to ascertain that at any moment one of the significant conditions for deadlock can certainly not hold. Deadlock avoidance, on the other hand, is where the system vigorously contemplates every request and decides whether it is safe to grant it at that point. The system requires additional apriori information regarding the overall potential use of each resource for each process. Deadlock avoidance allows more concurrence than deadlock prevention. The benefit of a multithreaded programming that is presented by multicore systems is that programmers are able to complete more total operations than with one core alone. This is the concept of multitasking. Instructions in a series are also able

Introduction Eating habits differs from one region to the other, eating in restaurants or away from homes eating is currently a common phenomenon that is embraced in many communities. Eating in restaurant has evolved from a long way; it goes way from just the mere thought of getting ones fill to a form of recreation. People have always gone out to the restaurants and eating places to quench their hunger and desire for food, in the process they always expect to derive pleasure get satisfaction from it all. Restaurants and like forms of investments continuously change the face of the business to catch up with the constantly dynamic customers demands (Olsen Connolly, 2000). Restaurant owners or managers have always had to make intensive changes that are customer preference oriented. In such a dynamic industry, factors such as quality and technology are very important issues to consider in order staying up put in the very competitive dynamic environment. In the town of Chennai town alone, 459,000 re staurants locations nationally, the direct sale of these restaurants sums up to $32 billion a year and more than $ 0.98 billion a day (Jinsoo Hwang 2010). The restaurant industry has contributed to a great impact to the Indian economy, contributing an average of 1 billion in one year (Tam 2000). Fine dining is a type of restaurant that offers the finest foods, services and atmospheres within the hospitality industry. The major characteristic with this type of restaurant is its operation price that escalates above any other type of restaurant. The fine dining offers fine menus, fine customer service, fine atmosphere to dine in, thus making it one of the best dining places for the restaurants. One good example is Afraa restaurant, which is located in Calcutta, India (â€Å"Afraa†, 2010). This restaurant offers a best experience near a five star hotel and thus offering an alternative for those who cannot afford a five star hotel. It offers a good career opportunity since it provides for alternative for the revelers who would opt for cozy restaurants bud with less money for high-rated hotels. The future for the industry is promising since many people would appreciate for fast and fine services with good customer atmosphere to compensate for their money. Family restaurants are types of restaurants with that have mixed menus and their prices are often fixed. Meals are offered with the dinners seated communally at a table with bench seats. Just like their names, the family restaurants are mostly run by families. One good example is the Brennan family restaurants that are run by family members from Louisiana and New Orleans, with the name, Owen Brennan (â€Å"Brennans New Orleans†, 2010). Other than in Orleans where the children of Brennan operate the restaurant, the rest are operated by the Brennan descendants. The restaurants have opportunities for expansion since just like Brennan the restaurants are operated by family members making it a continuous business entity even with the demise of the founders. The restaurants develop with each generation of new managers and this increases the opportunities for growth. The managers and restaurant owners have to find a great deal in the marketing strategy in order to stay in the competitive market, considering customers satisfaction a basic factor in the success in the industry by maintaining their status in the market. Customers service satisfaction has been the major factor in determining the success of failure in the industry. Thus customer satisfaction has always been the crossroad in determination of the success in the industry. Generally customer satisfaction is a crucial factor that is directly proportional to the quality services in the industry. It is common to everyone to get quality services for their spent money. A reputable high quality restaurants or any other kind of business will always. In the studies conducted by the U.S. department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure survey, the sum up cost of food constitutes one third of all expenses, while half of the food expenses is spent in food away from home. Creativity and innovations is the major determinant and influential factors that determines the success and growth of the management of the service industry hence leading to a significant increase in the economic growth. Creativity has always been the back bone secret in the restaurant business and this can always be determined by the direct proportion relation to the sale output. The more the creative offers the more the sales output experienced in the restaurants. It thus very important to identify the quality perceived factors that will have a strong effect on the customers satisfaction or dissatisfaction as well. The aim of this research is to find out the factors that customers consider for their restaurant preference choices. The study was also to find out customers opinions and definition of quality services in the restaurants industry. The study was specifically carried out in a restaurant called the ABC restaurant in the city Chennai in India. Chennai is a city in the Southern coast of India. India is a country with many various religious groups as well besides the ethnic groups. The religion differentiation is also a major determinant in the food patterns in the country. The Hindu which is the dominant religion, do not allow the followers to take meat. As far as I know cows are considered sacred and are worshiped among the Hindu religion. The high castle Hindu is strict vegetarians and they dont feed on meat products as far as eggs. The lower castle is not very strict and could feed on meat but not beef. Pork is not also any part of their meal as pigs are considered unholy and are always reared in very dirty environment. The Islam community in India does not feed on pork due to religious issues. The rest of the population which comprises of the Christians, Jews, Sikh and the Pagans do not have such religious regulations and they feed on meat and its products. Rice is a staple food in India for more than half of the population, and the rice is served with almost every meal. The rest of the populations rely on wheat, which they use to make the famous Indian chapatti. The others staple food is maize, millet and sea foods for those in the southern of India. It is thus evidenced that the Indian food habits depends on the climate, geographical distribution and location and majorly religion plays a major part in food habit patterns in India. The major differentiation is the two groups of feeders, the vegetarians and those who feed on meat. Indian foods are famous for their delicacies and have an international recognition, the Indian foods are now being incorporated in the international cuisines, and they can as well be found into other ethnic restaurants. The Indian food market is always characterized by a specific trend in their food habits. India is a large continental country with more than one billion people constituting its population. There are over 17 ethnic groups with more than 30 different spoken languages. This calls for a very wide range of cultures and believes as well as eating habits. Chennai town has undergone urbanization as well as westernization, and like the major urban centers, there are many restaurants and fast foods joints that are a common trend in the homogenized global etiquette. It has been observed that the mainland of Chennai still holds a unique traditional Indian etiquette. The towns food industry has grown immensely and there are many investors such as; pizza restaurants, Thai restaurants, multicuisine restaurants Mediterranean restaurants, Japanese restaurants and many other foreign restaurants. Eating away from home has then become an increasingly ingrained in the culture of the Chennai dwellers (2003 Restaurant Industry Forecast). It is thus worth having a research study that determines the consumer behavior in the food and service industry in this town. The study was designed to try to determine if the customers or the consumers preference on restaurants choices was based on the quality services offered in the restaurants, and any other factors that affect customers relations to a restaurant service provider. This study also was to try to reveal the kind of information sources that act as influential factors in customers choices of restaurants. ABC restaurant is a start up business organization that was aimed at providing, catering services for the vegetarian at the Chennai town; Chennai town has developed from a slumbering fishing town, to the current prestigious city. Being a budget rather than a luxury restaurant, ABC was aimed at providing the services to people in low and middle-income people throughout the Chennai, as they come to the city. Restaurant business is an old industry within the entire Indian subcontinent, but which is highly competitive yet profitable industry. This shall illustrate the markets segments of ABC restaurant and the strategies to be employed to target, attract and retain customers in order to create a solid stream of annual revenue within the business scope. The Restaurant shall not be just like any other common Restaurant within the city and beyond. Its unique focus of creating quality and affordable services with a new preference in the market shall give the company an added competitive adva ntage over the competitors. This is to be affected by providing the customers with a new outlet that is both highly affordable compared to other existing Restaurants, quality foodstuffs in addition to other services not common in budget Restaurants in the area (Brotherton, 2009). This shall fill a long-standing need in the area, where customers have for a long time been seeking for quality services at affordable prices (Baum, 2010). Traditionally, this area has been having only three competitors, all of whom provide their services at extremely high prices, yet their services are not of high quality. The restaurant has always aimed at targeting the people who normally want to get these services yet they cannot due to high prices charged by the existing Restaurants in the area (Baum, 2010). This study paper is to discuss about the South Indians relation to factors that affect value in a restaurant business through the management strategies and logistics. As such, the paper will dwell on product distribution and implementation of marketing strategy as well as include a plan for the implementation and launching of these restaurant services and products. After this, the paper will dwell on the development of measurements and control metrics that is to help the organization after its launch. All these aspects of management represent the last phase of management for the company and as such all the management and operational goals for the company will be realized. Literature review India is famous for its delicacies, and its image has already been approved internationally. The people of India love fine food not limited to local foods. The acceptability to foreign cuisine is very high. The more important thing is that one study found that the general consumers comprising 75% of general consumers in ethnic restaurants, (Crimm, 2000). The hospitality industry boasts as one of the highest revenue earners due to its diverse affiliation with many other industries in the both local and international market. Tourist attraction and entertainment sites couple with hotels availability to elevate the returns from the sector. Hotel industry entails various subdivisions, all which contribute to the growth and definition of the processes in the industry. One of the sectors in the hotel industry is the restaurant, which encompasses sub-sectors like fine-dining restaurants, on-site food services, and family restaurants among others. The other is the lodging sector that includes resort properties, conference hotels, and luxury hotels among others. The travel and tourism field encompasses cruise lines, destination management firms, and airlines among others. Clubs, leisure and gaming industries are also inclusive to the hospitality industry with their sub-sectors being the casinos, country clubs and theme parks among others. The restaurants develop with each generation of new managers and this increases the opportunities for growth. There are over 17 ethnic groups with more than 30 different spoken languages. This calls for a very wide range of cultures and believes as well as eating habits. Hindu believes and cultures have played a significant role in influencing the food trends in India. A sub continental interaction of various cultures such as the Mongols and the Britain has also played a significant role in blending in the Indian cuisines. (Zee-Yuu, 2010). The spices used have always been attributed to their healing and medicinal abilities and properties as well as their nutritional properties. The traditional Indian foods are always characterized by one main course. Instead of a variety of courses, the meals are always served around one main course meal which is rice or wheat product bread which is served with a variety of savory dishes. Indians love cottage cheese. This is always a common delicacy which is usually prepared with gravy, fried and added over pilafs. Most of the Indian foods are prepared in vegetable oils like sunflower oil, mustard oil and groundnut oil. According to other studies, Indian restaurants serve approximately 2.5 million customers every week, and the popularity of the Indian delicacy ha lead to researches that found that there are two Indian restaurants to ever one Chinese restaurant (Saren, 2007). Indian foods have always been characterized largely by their geographical location. In the Coastal region, this is the South India, fish and coconuts products have been their food components. The southern Indian foods of Tamil Nadu, application of tamarind is used to distinct and impact the sourness to the foods. Sea foods form the staple food for the residents of Andaman and Nicobar, Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Before the venture by investors into the southern India, the area was inhabited by indigenous tribes, due to their little interaction by other tribes, fish, fruits and vegetables were their diets. Currently, it is notable that a very big population of the southern population is vegetarians. As a result several accommodative recipes have been invented. The southern has a mixture of both vegetarians as well as non vegetarians. As a result the southern India has present very adorable menus for both the vegetarians and non vegetarians. The amalgamation of the Andhra Pradesh and Deccani styles are always characterized by excessive use of chillies which is always to enrich the taste of foods. The town of Kerala is always characterized by some of its distinct delicacies such as the lamb stew which is taken with appams, idlis, fried prawns of Malabar and the famous fish molie which is taken with rice puttu, rice puttu is a ground rice pawder which is steamed in a bamboo shoot (Pireira, 2003). Another famous item in the coastal India is the sweetened coconut milk; the milk is a traditional drink among the coastal region habitats. Rice is the major staple food that is served with almost every meal, such as meat, fish and lots of green vegetables. In the eastern of India, the Bngalis style relatily resemble the Coatal region. The Bengali staple food is a combination of rice and fish. The Bengalis feed on the different types of sea fishes. The Bengalis have adopted a special way of cooking; their delicacy is prepared by wrapping the uncooked meal in a pumpkin leaf then cooking it. This method of cooking is known as ‘Hilsa. The Bengali also has the common bamboo shoot cooking. The West regions Indians also have a characteristic form of cooking and food habits. The western parts are rather dry and not much likely comparable to the other parts of the sub continents. A variety of dals and pickles form major part of their diets. The western people consume both rice and wheat products in their diets in combination to the vegetables the Portuguese influence in cooking has also been observed in most dishes in the western region. The most common dishes known to the Eastern regions are like the sweet and sour Vindaloo, duck baffae, etc. meal in some of the Western regions cannot be considered complete without fish. Foods in some communities such as the Goans are always sea based; while some of the Eastern communities such as the Gujarati are basically vegetarians. The Gujarati basic meal is made from wheat flour, used to make the famous Indian chapattis, which I always made according to a families taste and preference of taste and style. The Gujarati diets change seasonally with the availability of vegetable that is in season (Pereira, 2003). During the mango season, mango pulp often makes the major constituent of the meal. This trend is witnessed by the spices used as well, like the garam masala will often be used during the summer period (Pireira, 2003). The North Indian foods are always prepared around the main course of the meal which is rice. The northern cooking is always influenced by the central India type of cooking. Like the central delicacy of saag is also found in the North as well (Dukart, 1988). Some communities in the North such as the Punjab, Haryana and Utta Pradesh have shown a preference to wheat chapatti consumption over rice. The northern region is commonly characterized with mughlai foods. Generally three quatres of the Northern Indian foods are for vegetarians. As a result to the widespread of the vegetarian population habit, India is well known for its tradition of vegetarianism, ( Dukart, 1988). The adherence to vegetariasm which is also known as sattvik has made its importance in the South probably because of the Brahmins, where it has gained popularity even among the non-Brahmins who have followed the meritorious lifestyle. The vegetarian nature of the Brahmins were due to different reasons and believes, the Brahmins believed that vegetarianism made their minds pure and to perform various rituals. It is believed that all the Brahmins are vegetarians and thus gives the southern India a reputation of vegetariasm. With the increase of globalization and exposure, Indian societies are undergoing a significant change that is impacted by Western influences and lifestyles. The food industry in India has had a change in its food consumption patterns (Food Industry, 2006). The Indian foods have been introduced into the outside markets and gained dominance is some places. According to the Britain Food Standard Agency, a value of $3.2 billion is accounted for all eatings in the Indian restaurants alone in the United Kingdom. A survey in 2007 showed that Indian food products that could be more than 1200 are already in the United States market since the year 2000. Indian foods have been common in the South East of Asia, this can be contributed for by the fact that the inhabitants have a strong Hindu and Buddhist historical background. A big number of Southern and Northern Indian restaurants have been established in Malaysian and Singapore. Several cuisines have borrowed styles from the Indian cuisine, such cuisines with Indian blend of cookery are like the Filipino, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Thai. The general wide demarcation of food patterns in India persist to date. India has always been a sub continental home for many people and culture over many centuries, and like many other cultures, the Indian cultures have been influenced by foreign elements that have always seeped into the Indian cultures over time. The Islam infiltration has had a great influence into the Indian society. The Islam revolution created a link between the non-vegetarian and the highly conserved rich graves that were indigenous to the Indian societies; this resulted to the Mughlai cuisine. Customers behaviors can be related to the choice of product, purchase, use of disposition of products and services. Consumer behavior can also be related to experiences the consumed products and services a customer get satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the consumers needs and demands. (Solomon, 2000). Three perceived quality factors, good value, tasty food, and employees knowledge of the menu mostly affect the customers satisfaction or dissatisfaction (Jinsoo Hwang, 2010). Consumers satisfaction is regarded as a crucial factor in the competitive industry and customer satisfaction has become a major topic of study in the industry. There is always no guarantee that a customer will always return to the restaurant a next time unless the customer liked the service offered in the restaurant. If restaurant owners or marketers know which perceived factors have a significant impact on customer satisfaction, they could potentially identify the chief elements of success or failure in a restaurants management. This has contributed to the pro active changes that focus on customers satisfaction. With the increased rate of globalization in business, most business managers are in turn increasingly focusing on the need to keep up with the management and financial requirements for a globalised business organization. Operations management has never been as vital as it is now with the era of globalization, and has therefore become a subject of study, research and practice. By definition, operations management is the management practice that deals with the design and management of business products, services, processes and supply chains (Cunill 2009). Within the scope of business operational management, there is the aspect of consideration of the acquisition, utilization and the development of resources that each firm needs in order to deliver its products to the market place (Chase Aquilano Jacobs 2003). Operations management, as a business practice, requires applications of strategies aimed at realizing the overall profits for the business. Strategic issues within the scope of o perations management for business organizations is inclusive of determination of size and location of the manufacturing sector, determining and deciding the structure of the servicers, the telecommunication networks and designing the technology for the supply chains. One of the major factors of operational management is the application of the five elements of OM; that is quality, cost, speed, flexibility and dependability in order to achieve specific goals in management (Cunill 2009). Hotel chains as well as individual hotels located in various parts of the world have the best example of organizations where operations management works best. Hilton hotels international and the Etap provide some of the best examples of the organizations where operations management is emphasized on, but with different approaches to the five elements of operational management. Considering the operations management from its five elements as the guiding principles, it is possible to determine the differences and similarities in the management between Etap and Hilton hotels international. Operations management: budget hotels (Etap) versus luxury hotels (Hilton) In the early years of hotel industry, the conventional definition of the word hotel was that a hotel is an establishment which provides lodging to persons on payment and on short term basis. The accommodation in the time was merely a room with a bed a cupboard and other items such as a table and washstands (Cunill 2009). However, the modern description of a hotel has evolved over time, and now includes modern facilities as air conditioning, telephone connections, televisions sets, internet connectivity (wireless fidelity-Wi-Fi) and bars with snakes, drinks and other items. However, the modern classification of hotel has created a difference in the type of hotel available in a given place, based on the service provide and the price as well as specific place of location. Although these differences come in most other aspects, the factor of price is the most important one (Cunill 2009). Currently, the two main varieties or categories of hotels are the budget Consumer Analysis of Restaurant Industry Consumer Analysis of Restaurant Industry Abstract The aim of the study was to examine customers definition of quality when it comes to restaurant services and the preferences and opinions in restaurants choice. The study was also to find out if the customers have idea of the existence of the ABC restaurant in specific. Across group comparisons of medians was determined using Kruskal-Wallis tests, while Chi-square analyses was used to examine differences between proportions. Mann-Whitney U tests was used for pair wise comparisons. Multivariate logistic regression, controlling for the confounders was used to examine the association between the different responses given by customers. The reference group was dependent on each other between those who agreed to a situation, those who disagreed and those who were undecided and remained neutral giving no response or not knowing a response to give. Statistical significance was defined as p  £ 0.05. Ethnic restaurants offer dishes that are not familiar in a particular locality. India is a large sub continental country with more than one billion people constituting its population. There are nearly 100 5-star Restaurants in India. These are state-of-art Restaurants which offer world-class services to the revelers. In addition, there are over 100 other 4-star Restaurants in the city. These hotels are strategically positioned in areas within easy reach by the revelers. The 5-star Restaurant in the coast of India is considered as the most prestigious Restaurant in the sub continent. This therefore makes the Restaurant to be a favorite spot for the wealthy people from around the world. Executive business meetings are also held in this Restaurant. Therefore, the tourists who frequent Chennai town in search of luxurious services find many pleasant places to get good quality services. The most plausible characteristic that influences the buyers are price, quality and pleasant aspects of the goods being purchased. Luxury visits to restaurants is therefore an issue that has been on the rise especially from among the western countries. Privacy, recreation and health issues are other considerations that are made by the tourists. The individuals who frequent the country are after prestigious goods restaurants. There are many venues that are frequented by tourists in India. Age and marital status are other issues that are influence the rate with tourists frequent the city. India is mostly frequented by married individuals and older persons. The younger people frequent the city less often due to the issue of income. The older people seem to have more income than the younger people and this causes the significant gap between the numbers of people frequenting the city. Currently there are several categories of hotels within the catering and hospitality industry in India. For instance Fine dining is a type of restaurant that offers the finest foods, services and atmospheres within the hospitality industry. The major characteristic with this type of restaurant is its operation price that escalates above any other type of restaurant. The fine dining offers fine menus, fine customer service, fine atmosphere to dine in, thus making it one of the best dining places for the restaurants. The future for the industry is promising since many people would appreciate for fast and fine services with good customer atmosphere to compensate for their money. Family restaurants are types of restaurants with that have mixed menus and their prices are often fixed. Meals are offered with the dinners seated communally at a table with bench seats. A significant blend of European cooking and foods was introduced into the Indian cuisines during the colonial period. The spice trade between India and Europe has seen a significant blend of the Indian and European foods. There is a distinctive difference in the in the Indian foods compared to the rest of the world, this is exhibited in their different cooking methods and taste, which is contributed by a vast blend of different cultures and over a period of time of years. Cultures have always fallen victims of civilization; food is no exception to this circumstance. The Indian food has been influenced by various forms of civilization which have lead to their current form and overall development. Indian foods have always been characterized by the extensive use of spices. From the Northern to the extensive Southern coast of India, spices have always formed a generous part of their food. Currently, the two main varieties or categories of hotels are the budget

Outline and Asses the Feminist Explanations of Gender Inequalities

Outline and asses the feminist explanations of gender inequalities (40) Feminists believe that women are unequal to men, and the different groups think it is down to different reasons. Liberal feminists think it is because it is down to gender role socialisation. Marxist feminists believe it is down to capitalism. Radical feminists think women are not equal to men because of relationships within the home, and black feminist think they are unequal not just because they are women, but also because of their skin colour. All groups of feminists also believe that women are subordinated due to patriarchy, (the idea that males are dominant).Firstly, liberal feminists, such as Ann Oakley argue that gender role socialisation is responsible for sexual division of labour. Girls and boys are socialised in different ways. For example girls are encouraged to take on caring roles, which could lead to them having jobs such as nurses in the future. 3 agents of socialisation- the family, the school an d the media have an influence on the way boys and girls are socialised. For example, in the home there is manipulation and canalisation. Manipulation is when boys and girls are encouraged to play with gender specific toys. Canalisation is when specific behaviour is encouraged or discouraged. For example if a boy falls over and hurts himself, he is encouraged not to cry and to act in a brave way. On the other hand, if the same thing happened to a girl, she would be given more sympathy. Ann Oakley argues that there is still an expectation for women to take on the housewife/mother role. Because of this, it is more difficult for women to pursue careers as men do. Oakley also claims that employers expect women to play the role of housewife rather than pursue a career. This patriarchal ideology is justified by men through claims that women are more suited to caring roles because of their maternal instinct. However, recently some liberal feminists such as Sue Sharpe have been more optimistic . She has said that not all women take on caring roles because of their socialisation. They may react against their socialisation, or pursue a career. Secondly, liberal feminism has been criticised because it tends to assume that all women accept their gender identities in a passive way. Liberal feminism also does not take race or class into consideration. Marxist feminists believe women's subordination is down to the influence of capitalism. Women are seen as a reserve army of labour. ‘ Companies only hire hem when they really need them, and they do less important jobs than men, making them more disposable. Women change jobs more frequently than men, so are more vulnerable at times of redundancy, they tend to be less skilled, and capitalist ideologies locate women in the home. The reserve army of labour theory has been criticised as it fails to explain why there are women's jobs and men's jobs. It is seems to overlook the fact that patriarchy can be influential by itself. The Marxist feminists seem to imply that once capitalism is abolished, gender inequality will disappear, which might not actually be the case.On the other hand, Radical feminists, such as Elizabeth Stanko argue that women's inequality begins in the home, and then extends outwards in the rest of society. If a women is unequal in a relationship with her husband at home, then she is unequal to other men in wider society, e. g. in the government and the media. Radical feminists focus on power relationships between men and women in private. They claim that men exploit and control women within the home. They also claim that when the patriarchy ideology fails, (when women do not dress and act as they are told to) then men resort to domestic violence in order to control them. Therefore, it is not capitalism that controls and exploits women; it is men themselves within the home. Women are disadvantaged in the labour market because within the home they are forced by men to be housewives and mothe rs. However, Radical feminism has been criticised by Marxist feminist for focusing on just one source of gender inequality; the home. They don't take into account the fact that capitalism could be contributing to women being disadvantaged in terms of employment. Radical feminists have also been accused of being ethnocentric; i. . they assume patriarchy is the same in all societies and cultures. However this may not be the case if you for example look at patriarchy in Asian cultures and white cultures, it might be quite different. Black Feminism essentially argues that sexism and racism are inextricable from one another. Forms of feminism that strive to overcome sexism and class oppression but ignore or minimize race can perpetuate racism and thereby contribute to the oppression of many people, including women.Black feminists argue that the liberation of Black women entails freedom for all people, since it would require the end of racism, sexism, and class oppression. In conclusion, all feminist theories agree that we live in a patriarchal society. However the reason we live in a patriarchal society is commonly argued amongst feminists each believing that a different ting caused it. All the reasons are well backed up theories and all have been criticised, It could be said that all are correct and it is not just one of these reasons cause patriarchy but the combination of all of them.

One More Thing

â€Å"One More Thing†: it is your choice The short story, One More Thing, is written by, American writer, Raymond Carver. Raymond Carver was born may 25, 1938, and he died august 2, 1988. He started his career back in 1958. His first break through was with the book, Carnations. One More Thing, has three characters, Rae, Maxine and L. D. The short story is about L. D. , who gets kicked out of his home. L. D. is married to Maxine, and together they have a child, Rae, who is a 15 year old girl. L. D. ’s selfish behaviour illustrates how much it can cost you, if you do not think about the people that you really love.L. D. is a aggressive and selfish person, which you can see through his actions. He throws the jar through the window: he picked up the jar and pitched it through the kitchen window. Also the way he talks is aggressive: â€Å"All right, I’m going right now,† he said. â€Å"It suits me to a tee. You’re nuts here, anyway. This is a nuthouse. There’s another life out there. Believe me, this is no picnic, this nuthouse†. It is not written in the text, but it seems to be a problem for L. D. and his family, that he drinks to much: L. D. ’s wife, Maxine, told him to get the night she came home from work and found L.D. drunk again and being abusive to Rae. L. D. is also a bit confused. L. D. says many times, I’m going, or when Maxine tells him to leave, he just says, ok. He says it like he does not care, like he is not against, that it is fine. How ever, when he is done packing his stuff, and also a bit of Maxines (tooth paste, soap etc. ), he comes back into the living room. Then he is hesitating, because he does not know what to say only, this is it. This is good-bye. I don’t know what to say, except I guess I’ll never see you again. You too. Raymond Carver has a special writing style. He does not tell his reader what has happened before. He only tells the reader, the most important d etails. It is also called the minimalistic writer. He does not write much, but what he writes, is the most important. It is up to the reader to improvise, and think about what had happened. He gives his reader some responsibility, and some freedom, to use his or hers fantasy. He begins this short story real straight. There is no intro to the story, it just starts, L. D. ’s Wife, Maxine, told him to get out†¦ instead of for example, L. D. is a man. He is 35 years old. L. D. s married to Maxine. Normally the author would have a little intro, both for the story, but also an intro for the different characters in the story. The end of this short story, one more thing, is also different from a lot of other short stories. In this short story Raymond Carver stops the story as he has started it, real straight. Most of the times, the author gives the reader a closed ending of a story, by tell the reader where, in this case, L. D. would have gone. How ever, in this short story, Ray mond Carver let his reader decide, or make his reader fantasies of what could happen next.Raymond Carvers, one more thing, is also in a easy, understandable language. Raymond Carver does not make use of too long sentences. Most of the time he makes short directly sentences, which is easy for the reader to understand. A theme to this short story could be, that you live your life through the people around you. L. D. is really confident at the beginning of the short story. In the beginning he is quick with answers to Rae, but later on, in the short story, Rae says to him: â€Å"just remember. † Rae said. â€Å"It’s in your head. † â€Å"I’m going, that’s all I can say,† L.D. said. â€Å"Anyplace†. As L. D. sees that he is actually has been thrown out of the house, and it was not just a normal fight, and he is loosing them who means something to him, he looses his confident. You need to show the important people in your life some love. Yo u need to think of them too, and not just your self. If you stop care for them, you will lose them at some point. The text reminds you of, the fact that, people around makes you, and that, you live through them. How would you be if you did not have someone that you really loved?

The Domain Of Psychology Which Will Be Social Psychology

Introduction The research study will look at the domain of Psychology which will be Social Psychology. In psychology, social psychology is the methodical study of how people s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are subjective to change by presence of others. Social psychologists study how an individual’s or a group’s viewpoint is changed by the social influence and communication of other individuals and social groups. In this research the main concentration will be on the topic of conformity. The definition of conformity is when an individual alters or changes their attitudes, thoughts and behaviour due to the social pressure and so they can fit in with the reference group. A reference group is a group to who we compare ourselves†¦show more content†¦This situation usually arises when the individual is in a novice situation for example it may be their first day at work or university and they don’t know how to behave. They want to the right thing but don’t have or lack the information or instructions to do so. Public compliance is when an individual conforms to the behaviour of another individual or group but they personally or privately disagree with their behaviour. People are more prone to conform to the norms of others when amongst a large group of people despite these norms are against of what they believe. Private acceptance is when an individual conforms to the behaviour of others because their behaviour or actions are seen to be correct. This can may be result in a modification in their own believes and attitudes. They adopt or internalise to the norms of others- they begin to accept and act on the norms. An experimental research study on conformity was carried out by Jenness in 1932. The aim of his research was to investigate if people would conform to a group norm in an unclear task and to see if people’s responses will be different if exposed to other people’s decisions or judgements. Jenness asked the participants to estimate how many beans a jar contained which was fill of beans. He then placed the participants together in a group and then asked
